Meet the doctors who make Fredonia Optometry Group the leading provider of vision care products and services in Fredonia, New York.


Steven Ihrig, O.D.

Dr. Steven Ihrig is a native of Fredonia. After 3 years of college at SUNY Fredonia and Indiana University, he was given early admittance to SUNY College of Optometry in Manhattan.

Upon graduation in 1983, Dr. Ihrig joined his father’s practice established in 1958 and eventually took it over. Dr. Ihrig enjoys providing optometric services for our community, especially contact lenses and children’s vision, and hopes to continue for several more years.

Beyond his professional career, Dr. Ihrig loves spending time with his grandchildren and doing outdoor activities such as skiing, scuba diving, white water rafting, and hiking.


Zak Bogosian, O.D.

Dr. Zak Bogosian grew up in Silver Creek and completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at SUNY Fredonia. Afterwards, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2025. His training included a rotation at the Salt Lake City VA hospital where he gained extensive experience in primary eye care, contact lens fitting, ocular disease management, and the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of vision conditions.

Dr. Bogosian joined Fredonia Optometry Group in the summer of 2025, bringing an approach focused on personalized care, clear communication, and the latest advancements in eye health technology. He has a passion for helping patients of all ages achieve their best vision and loves managing glaucoma, dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy, and childhood myopia.

Outside of eye care, Dr. Bogosian is a guitar player and singer who travels across the country performing with a band of optometrists called The Eye Docs of Rock. Dr. Bogosian also enjoys running, hiking, snow sports, and remaining involved in the local community he is proud to serve.
